Room. Acreage, forest and long stretches of shoreline, with Key Center for the essentials and Gig Harbor a drive away.
The Key Peninsula is for buyers who want land: space for a shop, animals, a garden or simply distance from the neighbors. It is rural in the real sense, with forest roads, small communities and a lot of shoreline.
That comes with homework. Most homes here run on a private well and a septic system, internet options vary by road, and the drive to Tacoma or the base is longer than from Gig Harbor. None of that is a reason not to buy; it is a reason to inspect carefully.
On a tour day we come here first, while the roads are quiet, and we drive the actual route you would take to work.
