Notes on North Tacoma

Older homes on tree-lined streets, the Proctor and Stadium districts for shops and dinner, and Point Defiance Park close by.

North Tacoma is where buyers come for character: craftsman and foursquare houses with porches, mature trees and sidewalks to the corner shops in Proctor.

The houses are older, so the inspection matters more than the paint. I ask inspectors to look hard at wiring, the sewer line out to the street, and the foundation, and I scope the sewer line on most older homes before we waive anything.

It is also the easy choice if one of you works in Tacoma and the other in Gig Harbor: you are a short drive from the bridge either way.
